Itinerary:

Day 1:

– We will pick you up from your hotel at 9:00 am.

– We will drive for 2 hours to reach the Gubeikou Great Wall.

– You will spend 2 hours hiking the Great Wall.

– We will have lunch at a local Chinese restaurant.

– After lunch, we will arrive at Gubeikou village and check you in at the guesthouse near the Great Wall.

Then, we will drive you to the Jinshanling Great Wall, where you can choose a long or short hike and enjoy the sunset view.

– Dinner time is around 6:30 pm.

You can request to see the sunrise at the exact location, which is only a 20-minute walk away.

– Your tour guide will be flexible and arrange the tour as promised.

Day 2:
We will start our day with breakfast at the guesthouse and then begin our journey promptly at 8 a.m. We will drive for approximately 2 hours from the village you are staying in to reach the Mutianyu Great Wall.

During the hike, you will get to see the most popular rebuilt section of the Mutianyu Great Wall and have the chance to take the toboggan down. If you prefer a less touristy section, we can take you to the Huanghuacheng Great Wall for a beautiful hike instead.

After the hike, our guide will take you to a local restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious and fresh Chinese lunch. Once you have finished your meal, we will drop you off at your Beijing hotel.

Option hike for day 2

Jiankou

Hike from Jiankou to Mutianyu, which is approximately 11 kilometers away.

If you want to hike more of the Great Wall, just let us know when you book this tour, and we will customize the tour for you according to your preferences.

Good to know:

1. We’ll be staying in a clean and comfortable guesthouse in Gubeikou village.

2. The Great Wall hike is very flexible and always can customize the distance based on the customer’s request, with cable car options available.

3. Most people can complete the hike. Request a hiking pole a day in advance.

4. Bring comfortable shoes/boots, snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, a stick, lip balm, and a cap.

5. No restrooms on the wild sections of the Great Wall. Use one before the hike.

6. We return to the city around 5 pm on day 2.

7. Lunch is after 2 pm. Have a big breakfast or bring food for the hike.

8. Unlimited number of water bottles will be provided, so please make sure to carry them yourself.

9. No visits to tourist shops/factories to save time.

10. Tips not requested but appreciated. Give around 50 to 100 RMB per person per day if you’re satisfied with the guide’s work.
